DIRECTOR & Consultant
Giles has been providing advice to the waste management industry since 1991. Over this time, he has accumulated significant knowledge and a wide understanding of the industry, within Australia and Europe. Giles is a Director and Principal Consultant in ASK Waste Management, providing waste and recycling advice to Government and private business, specialising in regional and rural clients.
While working in the UK, Giles was Business Manager for a leading Environmental Consultancy providing strategic waste management advice to key clients. Upon arrival in Australia, Giles worked for an international consultancy as the Waste Management Sector Leader before establishing ASK with the aim of providing a more flexible and efficient service for customers.
Sam has gained over 13 years of experience in the waste and recycling industry since his introduction to it as a general hand at a Materials Recovery Facility in 2005.
Whist completing a Bachelor of Environmental Science at Murdoch University he also acquired experience working with a local government waste department.
After graduating university Sam was employed as a Waste Management Officer for a group of 12 local governments in the southwest of WA where he worked on the development and implementation of a variety of regional waste and recycling initiatives including the introduction of three bin collection system.
Samuel joined ASK Waste Management in 2012 and has since been involved with a diverse range of projects including strategic planning, economic analysis, procurement management, environmental compliance, and operational management.
Alison has been working in the waste management industry for more than 23 years and has accumulated significant knowledge and a wide understanding of the industry.
Alison is an EHO by trade and spent 20 years in local government waste management. She has worked in large city municipalities, regional towns and small rural shires and has a comprehensive understanding of the management and delivery of waste services for the community.
Alison's experience has included public health waste management, municipal waste management, disaster waste management, and providing strategic advice to Local Government on waste management strategy and service delivery.
Alison commenced work as a consultant with ASK Waste Management in 2016.
Dr Jill Lethlean
Jill has over 20 years’ experience in the waste industry in Australia, working in both government and the private sector in NSW and Western Australia.
Jill worked for the NSW Government between 1997 and 2004 and was responsible for projects such as municipal solid waste data collection, commercial food waste collection trials and working on waste management in multi-unit dwellings.
In 2005, Jill joined the WA Government, where she oversaw the State’s waste data collection program, developed a range of policy positions for government, and managed WA’s Strategic Waste Infrastructure Planning Project (SWIPP).
In 2014, Jill established Consilium Waste Consulting and assists ASK with the delivery of specific projects as an Associate Consultant.
In 2018, Claire joined ASK as an experienced administrator with a background in document control, editing and proofreading, project management and digital marketing.
Claire has edited, formatted and provided support for a number of projects involving large reports and proposals, ensuring clear and non-technical language is used throughout.
In Claire’s administration and project management career, she has led large marketing, ecommerce and reporting projects from creation to completion, often co-ordinating varied and distant stakeholders and documentation to deliver successful solutions on-time and within budget.
Claire has a Graduate Diploma in Journalism and valuable communication skills combined with strong IT and MS Office skills that enable her to maintain high reporting and presentation standards for our customers’ reports.
